Buying a discount mattress does not mean you must sacrifice on quality. There are plenty of less well known brands with the same materials used in more expensive or well known brands. The key is in finding the right bargains at the right time.

Some stores carry their own label which uses the same quality materials as the well known labels but carries the store name instead. Because the name is less familiar to consumers the store may offer a special price on its own brand.

Look for comparable brands with the same number of coil inner springs and the same overall construction. Check for the other materials used inside the mattress. The materials used on the outside of the frame should be durable and should have seams that are firmly sewn. If everything else is equal you can probably buy a less known brand for up to half the cost of a famous name.

Many people today prefer the luxurious feel of pillow top mattresses. They come in nearly every brand. The important thing to look for in this style is how the pieces is made. If it comes with the same materials and the same number of springs the top should be sewn in and should not look like an afterthought.

In today’s economy getting a bargain on comfortable bedding that will provide a good night’s rest is possible. Even some store brand memory foam products can be purchased for around $500 or less. This is much cheaper than some of the advertised products on the market. If you would still feel better buying a name brand wait until stores are making room for new inventory and have clearance sales on their current stock.
